Author Guidelines

Author's Guidelines

The Journal is devoted to promoting rapid dissemination of original research papers in the relevant disciplines of particular importance. The primary emphasis will be placed on original research contributions, preliminary communications and reviews on current developments containing full details presented from Health & Social Sciences. It will bring together researchers from different specializations. TJHSS will be a Journal that will be bi-annually published by the TIMES University, Multan (Pakistan). TJHSS will be purely an academic Journal and will cover both applied and theoretical issues of all disciplines in Health & Social Sciences. Likely subscribers will be the Universities, Research Institutions and individual researchers. Authors are requested to read these instructions carefully before formatting the manuscript.

Organization of The Manuscript

The title should be clear, informative and concise and should be centered and typed in bold with Arial font and size of 15pt. Author's name is to be bold and centered below the title in the form: Given name (or initial) and family name in Times New Roman and size of 10pt. Author affiliations (department, faculty & institutional information) must be provided below the names in Times New Roman and font size of 10pt. Maximum 4-5 keywords must be mentioned below the abstract. The article should be prepared in Times New Roman, and font size of 10pt with line spacing of 1.5. All the main headings will be bold, Times New Roman with 11pt font size, whereas, subheadings should be italics. The body of article should be organized in the following manner: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgement and References.  Authors are requested to follow the same guidelines for submission of manuscript.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

There are no publication / processing charges for publication of research articles.

Double-Blind Peer Review Policy

This journal uses double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. To facilitate this, authors need to ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in a way that does not give away their identity. To help with this preparation please submit the Title Page containing the Authors details and Blinded Manuscript with no author details as 2 separate files.

Ethical Issues

The corresponding Author on behalf of joint authors will submit an undertaking that: The contents of the paper are original but not plagiarized. Paper submitted to TJHSS has not been previously published and not under consideration for publication in any other medium. Authors who do not comply with these guidelines and policies of Higher Education Commission (HEC) may be liable to punitive action. The paper is submitted in TJHSS solely from research point of view under no compulsion. Additionally, no financial involvements affect this submission of research.

Illustrations

All illustrations must be in the form of Photographs and must be numbered in sequence. Each illustration must be referred to in the text. It should be provided with the caption giving sufficient information for the figure without reference to the text. All text and illustrations must be within the allowed area as per attached template.

Tables

Tables are often economic way of presenting data. All tables must be numbered in sequence with Latin numerals both in the text and in the heading of each table. The heading should be informative for the table to be understood without reference to the text. These are inserted in the appropriate place in the text.

References

References should be placed at the end of the manuscript in Vancouver style.

Papers published are processed through double blind peer-review by respective subject experts/specialists and language experts. Copyright Notice

The policy for copyright shall be clearly stated in the author guidelines and the copyright holder named on all published articles. Likewise, licensing information shall be clearly described in guidelines on the website, and licensing terms shall be indicated on all published articles, both HTML and PDFs. If authors are allowed to publish under a Creative Commons license then any specific license requirements shall be noted. Any policies on posting of final accepted versions or published articles on third party repositories shall be clearly stated.

Publication Process Map

1.     Author Submission

  • Author uploads the manuscript to the journal website.
  • Author enters metadata for OAI indexing.

2. Submission Queue (Editor & Section Editor)

  • Editor receives the submission.
  • Editor assigns the manuscript to the appropriate Section Editor.
  • Section Editor manages the manuscript throughout the editorial process.

3. Submission Review

The Section Editor performs the following tasks:

  • Check the submission for compliance with journal requirements.
  • Conduct the peer-review process.
  • Reach an editorial decision (Accept, Revise, or Reject).

Author During Review

The author can:

  • Track the manuscript status.
  • View reviewer comments.
  • Revise the manuscript.
  • Resubmit the revised version upon the editor's request.

Reviewer Process

  • The Editor selects suitable reviewers from the journal database.
  • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript.
  • Reviewers submit recommendations and comments, which may be assessed by the Editor.

4. Submission Editing

After acceptance, the manuscript enters the editing stage:

  • Copyediting
    • Improve grammar, language, formatting, and consistency.
  • Layout Editing
    • Prepare publication-ready galleys (HTML, PDF, PS, etc.).
  • Proofreading
    • Final review of the formatted manuscript before publication.

Author During Editing

The author:

  • Reviews copyedits.
  • Reviews and approves page proofs (galleys).

5. Issue Management

The Editor performs the following:

  • Create journal issues.
  • Schedule accepted manuscripts.
  • Organize the Table of Contents.

6. Publication

  • Publish articles with immediate or delayed open access.
  • Subscription options may also be provided.

7. Current Issue

Published articles appear in the current issue with:

  • Reading tools.
  • Links to related internal and external resources.

8. Journal Archive

  • Archive all published issues.
  • Enable indexing by OAI search engines, Google, and other indexing services.

9. Submission Archive

Maintain complete records of:

  • Submitted manuscripts.
  • Accepted manuscripts.
  • Rejected manuscripts.
  • Entire editorial and peer-review history.


 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Articles

This section publishes original research articles presenting novel findings that significantly contribute to the advancement of knowledge within the scope of the journal. Manuscripts must not have been published previously or be under consideration elsewhere.

All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers. Manuscripts are evaluated for originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Authors are required to comply with the journal's publication ethics, plagiarism policy, and submission guidelines. Only manuscripts meeting the journal's editorial and ethical standards will be accepted for publication.

Review Article

This section publishes comprehensive and critical review articles that summarize, evaluate, and synthesize current knowledge on topics relevant to the journal's scope. Review articles should provide evidence-based analysis, identify research gaps, and propose future research directions.

Review manuscripts undergo editorial assessment followed by double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts. Reviews should be systematic, critical, well-referenced, and based on recent literature.

Authors must adhere to the journal's ethical standards, plagiarism policy, and author guidelines.

Case Report

This section publishes well-documented case reports describing unusual, rare, or educational clinical cases that contribute to medical knowledge or improve clinical practice. Case reports should present clear clinical findings, diagnosis, management, outcomes, and lessons learned.

All case reports undergo editorial screening and double-blind peer review before publication. Authors must obtain informed patient consent and ensure complete confidentiality by removing all identifying information.

Only case reports with significant educational or scientific value will be considered for publication.
